Brendan, cut Off the metal strap and use a rubber zip tie. I wish that was all that happened to mine.

My front boot tore since Rausch and had one wheelin' trip after that. No issues............................................ .....YET.

i was able to put the clamp back on, should i still zip tie it and take off the metal clamp?

If the clamp moved, is it still tight? I'd say use zipties.

i would put a ziptie on it bb , you will get it tighter then the factory metal one

remove the metal clamp & replace w/zips. carry extras. the metal clamp crimp is what makes contact w/the tranny pan. then when it comes apart it tears the boot. if just the zip comes off the boot has a shot of not tearing.

I've got about 22k miles on my JK & over 10k without either front or rear boots! I try to clean & spray lube on the shafts periodically.

tonight I picked up Joey's used DS's. the rear is good so I'll put it on. the fron boot is torn so I may try to fit a rancho shock boot on there instead of stock one. my theory there is the boot will be longer so the clamp won't hit the tranny pan. at least that's the theory.

now I gotta learn how to swap driveshafts
