Long Island, NY
Was thinking of heading out to Sore Thumb this weekend, but I don't have any permits, just a NYS Passport which is only good for parking, etc.
Any ideas on the fine? I'm sure they won't tow lol. Not sure how often that part of the beach gets patrolled, I'm tired of searching and reading restrictions on 4x4 beach permits, it gets complicated and don't care anymore.
I think this is the closes place I can go on the beach with my rig from Queens.

I've been at sore thumb all day today, no one patrolled yet, I have a town of Babylon beach pass and a salt water fishing permit which I believe can be used if you don't have the state park pass...
Was just at Sore Thumb today as well, I have a NY State pass but have not been checked the past 6 times I've been there. I know the Park Police are stretched thin so I would assume they are mostly checking on weekends/peak times which is when I usually avoid or go really early.
Not sure of the fine but I would just wait until the Fall to pick up a pass. It can get really busy in there during the day especially on the weekend so you aren't missing much by waiting.

I live in Manorville and I used to go in the trails off of 111 and now they're closed off so the only local place is the dirt road on jeruselum hollow which is fun for about 10 minutes. Anyone know of any good places to go in the area? Within 20 minutes away. Thanks!
