Default In need of a paint shop

Hey all,

So my Girlfriend's care seriously needs a paint job. Nearly 1 month after we bought it last April the clearcoat started cracking and peeling. Now the hood, roof, and trunk decklid look like complete crap. I would like to get it painted for her (either the whole car or just the sections that need it) for a reasonable price.

Does anyone here do this sort of work or can recommend a good shop to have this done? I received a quote from a friend for $2,200 for the whole car. I'd like to be under that if possible.

Details: 2001 Ford Crown Victoria, Black, located in DC Metro area

Thanks

If you know how to sand maaco does a pretty good paint job. I had an explorer that they did for 600 dollars looked real nice to.

So you sanded it down yourself before taking it in? They won't do that?
