U need a root program for the gb version ur running. U might have to flash back to an older version inorder to be able to install the rooted gb version. Check out xda developers.. Google it.. look around there and do some reading, kinda like looking around on here for mods, parts, etc.. it's a great site! And if u follow the steps for rooting it, u won't have any problems.

Me and the girl headed up to stokes forest today! Found a nice creek.

Water was cold but refreshing! The dog thought so..

Then we went to buttermilk falls. It was flowing, but not as much as I thought..

Then we found a sweet swimming spot in a river! Didn't get pics of that, but we will be back to try it out! Had a fun day!!

Hey sorry I took so long to get back to you but I was doing some research on getting my rooted phone to GingerBread 2.3.3. Rinkish is right, apparently from what I have read you will need to flash your firmware back to Froyo so that you can root it from there and then put on gingerbread. Here are some youtube videos that might help you out.
Getting phone to factory settings - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGEhiEROP2g
Rooting Gingerbread - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGEhiEROP2g
I hope these help, and like Rinkish said, xda developers is a good site. Once you root your phone upgrading to other things is easy. I wish I could help you out some more but since I Rooted my phone prior to gingerbread, it made life a lot easier.
If you need any help feel free to ask and I will do whatever I can to help you out. Good Luck and Enjoy it!
Yea its all legal. There is a few trails, but most is just nice scenic gravel roads to the waterfall. Its a good time! It's by tillmans ravine. Theres also a lot of hiking trails.
