Considering I average 150 miles a day at least 5 days a week for the last 10 yrs, I think 30 isnt too awful bad. I drive 80mph on most of my commute and am routinely passed by other drivers. Ive mostly been stopped during non-commute hours while driving like I was in the thick of the daily grind. My father used to chastise me over my speeding; until, he spent a year on the NYS thruway, now he is worse than me.

I know it sounds like a lot but believe it or not the way the computers are connected and if you would have gotten the points you never know when it counts against you whether it be your insurance or something else. Your choices would be get an attorney and fight it ( minimum of $250.00 charge ), pay it in full ( a lot cheaper than the attorney, but still there goes the points ) and you wouldn't have to appear, and last but not least what you got which is a gift because you don't have to show up and you didn't have to pay and attorney to get you what you already have. The surcharges are on all summonses here in NY it all depends whose playground you are on State ( bigger surcharge ) or City ( smaller surcharge ). Then you have the counties which have their some incorporated villages, and some just towns just to F%ck with ya it all depends whose sand box you are playing in. So be happy and you got off. Hope you enjoyed your stay here in NY. See ya again soon.
