Default Off to Mid Atlantic 4x4

Well hubby installed a 3 inch Zone lift for me for Mother's Day. Yep great gift but a week later I got the death wobble We have tried everything to retorquing to alignment. Thought I was good yesterday until the jeep did it on 695 So does anybody have experience with these guys Mid Atlantic 4x4. I know they specialize in Jeeps. Somebody mentioned a place in Frederick but thats a hike with the death wobble going on. Thanks in advance.

How sure are you that your torque wrench is accurate? Another member on here recently had the same issue..... they retorqued everything and still got DW. Turns out the wrench was about 40lbs off. More than likely your death wobble is from the trackbar not being tightened enough or the hole in the bracket is wallowed out... which is not all that uncommon. Might want to consider Adams Jeep in Aberdeen for future service..

Yes we hear great things about Adams but we cannot travel far with the Jeep right now. I went about 10 miles yesterday hit a bunch of bumps nothing I hit a little damn bump on 695 and ended up having to pull over in order to get going again. I just want my jeep back The trackbar right now has no movement I know another member mentioned they torqued and torqued but still had movement in the trackbar which was their issue. My husband does not give up easily and I know he is very frustrated to say the least considering he does all the work on our vehicles. For now I get to drive his lifted Rodeo without a death wobble.

Good luck.... hope it gets figured out! My money is still on the Trackbar being loose or the hole in the bracket is wallowed out. Unless you remove the trackbar you wont be able to see it.

have you guys started the jeep and moved the wheel back and forth to make sure everything is in order??? maybe the pitman arm end of the draglink is shot?? maybe the ball joints are worn out. i would def check the track bar holes, and brackets out like ugotkern said. maybe something was overlooked.

The only place I know of in Frederick is tricked trucks and I would avoid them like the plague. Butler tire just started installing lifts, I know they are great with tires but I don't know about installing lifts. And since I do all my own work I will probably never know. There is a place in Westminster that I heard good things about.

We had the ball joints and tire rods checked when the jeep went in for an alignment. I asked him about the trackbar holes but at the moment he is not getting back to me. Think he is just fed up going on week two without my jeep
