So I'm out here in Rodanthe, NC. Yes, I paid my 50 bux and watched some crappy movie about ORVing on the OBX. I did Ramp 27 south of Randanthe, really nice beach, flat as can be and lots of space between the dunes and the water. But then I went to Ramp 4 (near the coast guard station and marina) before the Oregon Inlet Bridge today...and wow...what a huge change. I remember going there in 2010 and being able to drive under the bridge and stuff. It is nothing but a small strip now. That hurricane must have really wiped this area up pretty badly. Maybe I don't come here enough to realize the changes, but that whole area is completely different from I remember. It is crazy!

Oregon Inlet Bridge...was it this eroded or am I crazy?

On a more fun note, I got to pull a Honda Pilot out of the sand that dug himself in pretty deep...strike that, I pulled him out initially, his 4WD didn't have the umph to get through the sand and I had to pull him farther back so he could get a running start out of Ramp 27. Fun times in the sand. I wish I had pictures and video to chronicle that one...now if only I could get the in-laws to take their Toyota Highlander out so we could see who wins the next challenge.

We stayed in a house in the 4x4 area called Carova. It was a lot of fun. We had to drive up the beach 6 miles to get to the house.
Unfortunately, I have actually never been up there at all. You'll have to let me know how that goes. I did hear while I was down there that the county wanted to try and impose something similar to the Hatteras National Seashore...a permit system and fees. Anything to make a dollar right?
Anyone have anything planned in the next few months? I just ordered a 2.5" BB to replace my half-assed Teraflex Leveling Kit (my fault for not installing all of it). Anyway, instead of getting the lift and sitting it in my room for months, I'd like to get that, my adjustable LCAs on so I can have some fun, unlike the first time I went to Shoe Creek bone stock. Now to find a driveway and garage. Anyways....let me know.
