Where will you be working? That, and school (if you have kids) will really drive the location.

 

x2 I've lived in Fairfax county my whole life and getting close to work is a huge plus. I'm moving to Arlington in March to get closer to the job in DC.

On another note, I just got my new RR XHD bumper in the mail with my Recon winch. I hope to get it on this week and would love to get out and test it out sometime soon If anyone is up for a trail ride sometime soon let me know.

 

My wife and I both will be working for INSCOM on Ft Belvoir. Schools are not a concern as our daughter is only 8 months old. Any advice you can offer would be great, we are looking at 2300-3000 a month rent.

personally, i hate traffic...with that being said, i wouldn't look much further south than woodbridge/dumfires. with your budget, you should be able to find something close to belvoir.

 

Since you're going to be at Belvoir, I would check the Kingstowne, Springfield, and Lorton areas for rentals. Alexandria would also be okay, but stay away from the Richmond Highway area.

 

Also, my neighbor is renting out his 2-bedroom townhouse, which is newly renovated. PM me if you're interested, and I'll check with him about availability. It's located near Belvoir.

 

normal 9-5 job? if so, I would advise against being south of your job for coming up 95 or rt1 during rush hour can be a real bear.

 

Think I am going to attempt a camping trip at Shoecreek this weekend.
