Default Robbinsville, NC

Not sure if this is exactly the place for it, but we are heading to Robbinsville, NC next week and are looking for scenic places to Jeep. My JK has stock suspension and my off-roading skills are very limited, so I would need something on the tame side of extreme…

Any recommendations would be most appreciated.

Default I think you can still run parts of Tellico.

You will be near Murphy. Take the road through all the rafting and cayaking area. Go to Murphy for lunch. Navigate to trail 1 in the old OHV area and then either turn around or continue on to Tellico Plains in TN and then drive "The Dragon" on the way back. That's an awesome drive. The Cherahola Skyway is over in that area too.

us 129 runs right through town, the skyway starts (or ends) off of us 129 in robinsville. The skyway is one of the shortest most expensive roads in north america, it took 34 years and 100,000,000 dollars to build and it is (i think) around 40 miles from robinsville n.c to tellico plains tenn. If you do go on the skyway on the other end near tellico there is a state trout hatchery, take that rode there is a nice waterfall that you can hike to the top of(10 min walk). If you really want to hear the banjo music keep driving past the waterfall about 7 more miles there is a lil community (IN THE WOODS) population 15 to 30. It was cool to see but had to look and go before the banjos started playing. Cool places to go up there, smokey mountain national park is about a 30 min ride from robinsville. i have been up there on a motorcycle and with the jeep. if you have any more questions just shoot me a p.m.
