Stoney Run & Shoe Creek Trail Run -- June 27th
Hey folks... I still have my jeep and i'm getting that itch to go off road. And since I haven't been there for a while and there's always been talk of it, I feel like going to Stoney Run and then doing Shoe Creek after.
These are both trails that can be done with a stock rubi or TJ. but they are fun trails. They rank up there with Dry River for those that have been. There are plenty of spots to go full flex and those of us running stock will see some 3 wheel action.
Shoe Creek is a little more tame. Its more of a scenic trail, but still has its share of obsticles along the way.
Eitherway, I'm going, and anyone is welcome to come along. I've already got some folks from the CORE group coming a long.
I'll be picking some meeting spots shortly, but for now, just let me know if you are interested and can make it.

Unfortunately I can not go but since a few of you are driving quite the distance I am offering a place to crash Friday night if it would make it easier for you to hit the trails Saturday morning. I have beds for 2 or 3 people. More if they want to tent it or sleep on the floor.
I live ~30 minutes from Shoe Creek. Please be aware that you will have to be gone no later than 9:30AM on Saturday morning due to us having prior commitments.
Let me know.

hmmm... not too much interest in this eh? only got 3 people so far (2 people from the CORE group + 1 from here)...
anyway, here are the meet spots and times...
for most of us coming down 29, we can meet at the Sheetz I used last time when we went. the address for the sheetz is "10101 James Madison Hwy, Bealeton, VA 22712" and a good meeting time would be between 7:30AM and 8:00AM.
so for anyone else, we can meet at the 7-11 in town. the address for that is 50 Draft Ave, Stuarts Draft, VA. and we should get there between 9:30 and 10:00. There are several gas stations near by to fuel up at. This 7-11 does not have gas!

the trail head is about 3 miles south of the 2nd meeting spot in Stuarts Draft, VA.
Shoe Creek is near where the Blue Ridge Parkway and VA-56 meet.
and as a side note, got two more folks from CORE coming now.

hope nobody kills me over this, but this is probably going to be the last off road run for my JK and probably the last off road trip for me for quiet a while, unless i catch a ride with someone.
but i've been given till the end of july to get rid of my jeep and get something else.
doesn't matter what i get, but just something that will lower my $600 car payment.
and i'm torn between several vehicles right now. I just got to test drive the last one yesterday, and now i need to make a decision on which one to get.

Sorry to hear that guy. You are kinda close to me and I do need a co-pilot from time to time
so I think I can hook you up for a trail ride now and again. Hopefully you will still be around on the forum. Still up in the air for Sat run, should know by Thursday night.
