The spot I referenced was the path to the left at high crossing. The hill is jemania mount. Yup. I tried a few months ago to show people the legal way to be in the pines. But only
A few respected the land and what I told them. They will eventually take a chance one day and land in deep s**t. Granted we all did dumb stuff when young but with the way park police are on patrol now. It's only a matter of time before they are busted. And no only with they be in trouble but everyone in the group will be in trouble too just for observation of illegal activity. Them they will call in the conservation officer and they have the right to search a vehicle without probable cause when u are on state land.

 

I wasn't leading, so I can't speak for everybody but I can say that at a few points during this ride when we came to signs we turned around.

Nobody that was with us on this particular ride was willingly going off trail. We even discussed prior. Even though I wasn't leading, I'm still learning out there. It's been 10 years since my last wrangler, so I'm rusty on paths. I painted the first ride with you on my GPS so we tried to stick to that.

Nobody is interested in wrecking stuff out there, including me. I am on several State funded conservation grants and programs that save the pines. I take tread lightly seriously. Knowing that Jemania Mount is off limits, we won't hit that again.

The path where the rubi is stuck though, I don't know exactly where it was along the road. How can we tell what is off path when there are no signs?

 

lol, it's a fair/honest/noob question I imagine. I was informed that if we stayed on the paths (except where marked) they were legal. We turned around at the point and had 12 Jeeps do K turns to avoid that one road.

JK knows it out there well, so I am asking honestly (not being a smart ass). What's the best way to tell.

 

I know u were there and I tried to warn everyone from they second they all came blasting in the ranger Atsion blowing water everywhere. When we wee all at high crossing together I stopped there and strictly pointed out where u could and could not go. But people gave me shit for not letting people go in other holes right there. There answer was "we do it all the time". Well I didint care I knew what was right and tried to tell. I recognize the spot because I go past it alot. They way to know is to go with someone the is experienced and knows the legal roads. Alot of people k ow the area and disreguard the legal aspects. That is why alot of guys broke off at the end and wet back that way plus another area that was off limits that day. Because I was a buzz kill for doig what was legal and people feel the need to show off and be big boyz when they got there women around.

Some people here don't like me guideig cause I am all legal. So tuff. I get as muddy as all of them if not muddier and I do it legal. Oh and when I lead I never have had a single stocker hydro there motor as many others here have done. Sorry I take care of who I lead

 

Honest answer. Go to Batsto office. Pay 80 bucks and buy the trail maps for Wharton that they sell in the office. Then sit with someone and learn to read them. That's not a smart a$$ answer. The maps can be a pain to read if u don't know the area. Also stop a park ranger and ask. They role in marked and unmarked trucks.

 

I know why you are saying, but for the record the guys you had an issue with did not come. Myself and Drexel were not the guys who came blasting into the station. When the group broke up (unbeknownst to those of us at the back) we followed your girl's lead out.

We honestly are doing are best to have fun and be legal.

I appreciate where you are coming from, nobody wants to see anything get shut down or damage to the environment. Just hear us out that this was our second run, first alone... We're still learning man

 

Done and Done. And all the rangers we met and spoke with on the 28th were nothing but nice and didn't say anything negative.

MAX while I respect your passion for the legal way to ride and want to ride legally myself you tend to fly off the handle pretty quickly in these post. If you go back to the last ride we were on you would see that Scrappy and Drexel both stayed with the group and rode legally. A simple heads up would have sufficed.

 

Scrappy it's your run but why not invite MAX on the run for the 14th maybe he can show us some new legal trails.

For those like Scrappy, Drexel, and I now that we know they will sell us a map of the legal trails maybe we can put a collection together to buy a copy.
