I'm not seriously looking to buy at the moment, just get a gauge for the market on these rigs. I might buy a solid frame and good body for the right price but I won't be building for a while.

Anyone know what a good price for a solid frame/decent body cj is? I don't care if the motor or trans or t case work. If I ever start this project it would have 1 ton underpinnings from axles to a 6.6l dmax diesel. I'm not even sure if cj body length would allow for the 1 ton setup.

Finding one solid is the hardest part Mike... however if you do find one they are usually well kept AND well built which means they cost a bit more.
I've seen a few on kijiji as I'm sure you have but the proof is having a first hand look at them.
Couple of my friends have them and they're mint... well built rigs.
Thinking of something else already are we

Lol not anything serious right now. I've got too much stuff on the go. But I keep catching parts of extreme 4x4 building their diesel buggy. I had a dually with the 6.6L lb7 diesel motor and I loved the power delivery of it.

I can't afford a tube buggy as I just wouldn't use it enough to justify the cost, but if I could build a sweet no top no door cj diesel with a small truck bed it would be worth it as a summer only rig.

It's just a pipe dream for now but I'd like to expense it all out and see how many future children I would have sell. Who knows? Maybe she'd let me sell one or two of the ones that cause the most trouble...
