Default Nearly damaged my hood.

It's not often I lose my temper but yesterday I had a minor tantrum and felt like tearing off my hood.

I've been trying to remove the bug deflector from my hood (or bonnet to those who prefer), however, it's on there good. I removed the four screws and I have been trying to use various methods of cutting through the two way tape. I had a string of "d'oh" moments:

-I just could not cut through the tape with a blade. The blade got stuck in = one set of rapped knuckles.
-The dental floss repeatedly snapped after cutting into my hand = why not round out the full set of rapped knuckles.
-I stood outside in the freezing cold like a fool with the girlfriend's hairdryer pointed at the bug deflector taking breaks to warm up my hands.
-I whipped out the paint thinner and accidently stripped some of the varnish off the kitchen table
-I said "screw it" and started to put the screws back in - the screws seemed to be different sizes or perhaps it was the frozen fingers and lack of dexterity. They were not going in easily. Patience gone I tossed the screws onto the snow covered lawn.... that'll show 'em!

Today I called the local dent shop and they said they could take it off no problem and when I asked how much? - "Frig all"...

Now I feel like a complete idiot
All because I "didn't really like the look" of the bug deflector. Who wants to take bets that I'll be looking at them at Canadian Tire again in a couple months?

Try WD 40? That stuff takes off most adhesives.

Heat up the tape with hair dryer and it will be easier to rip off, I did mine like that I had a bushwacker that I took off.

Get a cheap heat gun at harbor freight it will get quite a bit warmer and soak it with goo gone. Just take your time and keep calm your jeep will appreciate it.

Try fishing line instead of dental floss
