20,000 members here and???
Tonight I decided to take a few minutes to write about something I see missing from this forum. And the reason I felt compelled to speak my mind is that on “all” the blogs I am a member on- this is the only one that has no forum to address land issue!
Twenty-thousand members are part of this forum and many of us have Jeeps that we use on public lands. I believe a forum this size that represents the off-road community should have a land issue forum. I am would hope the editors and moderators would at least feel compelled to address this.
I would hope many members on this board would be concerned when land gets taken away. Though I live in the great state of Arizona I am concerned (and made my voice heard) about the current issue with the Rubicon trail. Every year trails are lost- and that is because we as a off road community fail to make our voice heard.
On March 11 California S. Bill 22 was defeated. For those in So. Cal (Riverside) almost lost many trails. I am compelled to say that many that fought this bill were from the off-road manufacturing community. And mostly from the motorcycle side of the house.
Tellico, Paragon, Burlington (NJ) and so forth facing closure or are closed….and what happens when eyes are set for Moab? If we all banded together, twenty-thousand of us can make a very strong voice.
I would hope members of this type of forum would also post on this subject- I am just one an maybe that is no concern here- but if many of you post to this response then maybe- just maybe this type of forum can be added. I am also challenging the vendors on this site as well. I bought your product to get me to the outdoors- not be some mall cruiser!!!
Thank you for reading this post!

I have a voice. And will use it.
I've signed several of the "petitions" I've seen come through my mailbox via NORA mailings in the past. Unfortunatly, I am unsure of what more I can do.... I'm all for an area on this forum dedicated to protecting the lands on which we practice our passion.

you made a impact being active with a voice.
Where did you find the info on this? I definitely agree we need a "land use" area. If it were up the the crazy greenies, we would be a bunch of mall crawlers, actually, they would want us to scrap out rigs b/c of the gas milage. One of my other hobbies is homebrewing, and I helped out Alabama because they are one of the last states to legalize it. Called and wrote congressman. They took some equipement and had beer tasting and it helped, sadly still didnt win. Petitions just wont cut it honestly. If we took a couple modded rigs up to congress, you know some of those politicians, would be in complete awe. We need more positive exposure.
We surely need WOL to chime in here. I know there are other organizations such as NORA that we could possibly advocate here to try to spread the word and get as many folks as possible on mailing lists, joined on websites, etc. At the very least generate increased interest in our cause.
I would also think that joining a local 4X4 club helps too. Most have deals worked with local 4X4 shops, etc and many of them will have ties to "public land use advocates". Every little bit helps, yes?
