android app notifications won't stop
Recently the notification feature went rogue on me. On my Evo LTE, I keep the push notifications feature off so that my phone doesn't make noise or show the icon in my notifications screen and across the top of my phone every time a thread I'm subscribed to gets a reply.I just want to receive email notifications only.
Now that happens all the time and I can't make it stop. Sometimes logging out seems to stop it, but not all the time. WTF? Anyone know how to stop the sound and alerts? I like just getting emails for notifications, not actual phone noises all day long.

Might be a better option to answer your question:
Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum

My question is how do you get the notifications to stop? Period!! I don't recall changing a setting and now every time something is posted (jk-forum) that I am subscribed to it appears in my status bar. I feel all these notifications are killing my battery.
Guess I will get even more now that I replied to this thread (lol).

I use Google chrome as my web browser on my PC and did a sync last week. I am wondering if it is because I have the Gmail client on my phone in combination with the sync??... I have Tapatalk on my home PC and maybe since I synced Google Chrome, my phone has picked up my profile settings and now has the same thing??... My phone notifications do not appear to be from Tapatalk though. I did notice that I am receiving notifications from another forum I subscribed to a year ago but no longer use... so I wouldn't think it is a jk-forum issue.
UPDATE: Okay, I cleared my tapatalk notifications and defaulted the notification checking from every 1 minute to every 30 minutes. I will respond to a few threads. If this has anything to do with tapatalk and Google Chrome syncing then I should see some messages in about a half an hour on my phone. If I see anything sooner then I will investigate further.
