Bump?

I've noticed people reply with "bump". I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to internet and forum stuff. Just wanted to know what "bump" means.

Bump is to bring that thread to the top of the list because it was the last one commented on.

A lot of people only read the most recent threads so a "bump" gets a thread back to the top for, hopefully, more responses.

Sometimes people feel that their thread or question has not received enough attention and they post "Bump" to bump the thread to the top of the page, in hopes that someone will deal with their question.
