First POST is from 2007? Why???

First POST is from 2007? Why???
I know I'm new to the forum but I just have one question and maybe a suggestion....What do you think?
When I click on a topic or thread, why is it that the first post that comes up is from 2006 0r 2007??? It seems to me that to get the most recent information or opinions on a question that a jeeper has to back track to the latest posts which may be page number 50, 51, 52, 100,....etc. Instead shouldn't the latest post be number 1, 2, 3, 4...?
