I upload every one of my pics from my hard drive, or from my iPhone. What's the reasoning behind needing to use a hosting site? Just right click photo, save as, then upload it. ??? Am I missing something

When I use photobucket my photos are full sized and don't need to be clicked on to be enlarged.

I tried to upload using Photobucket and it still says the pics are too large. How do I reduce them?
