Default Jk Forum app no more?

I was trying to point a buddy to the forum and it's nowhere to be found in the Apple App Store. What gives? Where is it? I use it through Garage Talk app. Can't find that either.

Man, that's been gone for years it seems....like 2-3. I think they moved solely to support from garage talk app....and coincidentally, I think that is also when we lost of lot of regularly active members. Could be wrong, but pretty sure either Bob or someone from IB will correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not a mobile user myself, but seems like the younger crowds are almost mobile only.

That is a really good question. Maybe the answer is more technically they are not "supported" anymore. I guess if you're running an old enough software that the old app continues to run without updates, you're buying time. I do know that I used to use an app for my work email that I paid $20 dang dollas for, then Symantect bought it and stopped supporting it. after a couple more years, that app finally died, no support, doesn't even show on Play store anymore. I just generally recall when the JK-Forum app went away cuz it was a very distinct line in the sand when it came to general member activity. (I have a lot of downtime at work and am on the site via PC most days so I notice things like this).

I'm on the garage talk version. Super annoying. Wish there was a site specific app. This is the only thing I use garage talk for, and it's garbage.

If I really want to find an old thread, or recall something, i have to log in to the site, and that's a pain on my phone. I basically don't use a real computer anymore. Phone only.

So what app are are you using for JK-forum? Based on your comments above, your coming from some other app?

The apps continue to function but they are no longer available for download as they're being discontinued in favor of a mobile skin/theme that has been available and receives regular updates. Mobile devices have continued to improve and change. One reason for moving toward the mobile skin/theme is the ability to better process and control the updates without having to go through the store process as part of an app.

I'd say 99.8% of my use is PC based actually. The few times I feel the need to respond to something in a timely manner via mobile, I just log in through a browser. I used to use the JK-Forum app and liked it. I tried using Garage Talk and couldn't hang with that for very long, but again, I spend a lot of time in front of computers in general at work and home. I can see how some folks are almost completely mobile these days like tjkamp. Probably more common than not, and again mainly why I think activity dropped off a cliff more than anything. I see both sides of the coin from business perspective, especially since social media in general robbed lots of the older message boards of users and content.

Yep. FWIW, I didn't like the initial way JKF displayed using Chrome on my Android. Now, it's really good and easy to use.

Agree. I loathed the new format at first. Over time I've come very accustomed to it and now if I ever go to the black-background site I find it terrible to look at.
