Is there any way to extend, or turn off being timed out/logged off the forum?

I have never been kicked out of the forum even after hours of inactivity.
When you sign in, Do you have the box checked to the right of the login button?

Make sure you have your cookies enabled in your browser preferences. It's probably not storing your login information, meaning you have to login every time you leave the site and visit again or when you refresh the page after being idle for a while.

Check that first.

Never noticed the box on the side- is that what keeps you logged in?

What ever functions, if any, does it have?

Dont want cookies (not home pc) and dont mind loging in initially.
Just dont want to time out every 15 minutes.

I'm pretty certain you would have to have cookies enabled for that 'Keep me logged in' checkbox to function correctly. It stores your information in your browser.

So in short, yes, that is what keeps you logged in.
