In the rules, it mentions "You may post non-offensive text in your signature"

Which means you may not post offensive text, yet a member here has an avatar of himself flipping the middle finger at the camera. Is that not the same as typing the words "F*** Y**!" in the sig?

I don't find it acceptable or non offensive and I do not want my 12 year old son to have to see it when reading threads.

It is still offensive. It still violates the terms and conditions of the forum.
Profanity in picture form is no less wrong than typing the words.

I see no problem with the avatar.

And I have to agree, kids shouldn't have unmitigated access to the internet. This is a discussion forum made up of and intended for adults.

wish my kids thought a pcture of someone flipping the bird was offensive they get that every time mom drives to the store.

 

bad news dude. he prob already knows about the bird. i have an 11 year old and i cringe when i find out some of the stuff he is aware of.

 

I'd be more concerned with him reading the sports section of the newspaper. It's all to apparent that there's an epidemic of men no longer able to have sex.
