Use Google to search JK-forum
I wanted to throw this out there as a tip and to see who else does this.
The search function on the forum, for any forum for that matter, is limited. You can't use "quotations" for specific string or 3 letter abbriviations. Not criticizing , just pointing out a limitation of the program.
Anyway, I use the google search function a lot. Mainly the advance functions, especially if you don't know the special characters and format to type in the search window.
In the google advance options you can type the words or specific phrase you are looking for and specify to only search in JK-forum (or whatever site you are looking through...teraflex, northridge, etc).
Even better is that the search results will go to the page that contains your query and not just the thread. This can be really helpful if the thread has 17 pages. Yes I know you can do the "search this thread"
Anyway, just a little faster and convinent.

Actually, just to clarity, you CAN use quotations and you CAN search for 3 letter words on this forum.
Also, when you search this forum you can specify "show posts" and that will get you right to your query. For more search tips, check out this post.

This 3-year-old reply is worth a bump.
Lots of threads start out with the OP saying something like, "I used the forum search function but didn't find anything." I also see a lot of duplicate threads, some of which are posted just hours or days apart.
A quick Google search can usually prevent these situations and help you find what you're looking for faster than starting a new thread and waiting for replies.
For example, if you just received the recall notice for the 2010 transmission skid plate and want to know if anyone else has had this work done yet, search for site:jk-forum.com 12V-216 recall or site:jk-forum.com 2010 fire recall
If you want to know if anyone is running the Racho oil pan skid, search for site:jk-forum.com rancho oil pan skid
It you're thinking about starting a Jeep wave thread, search for site:jk-forum.com jeep wave
It's really that easy.
