Default 21-23 Sept - Sedona Camp and Winefest

All,

Heading to Sedona for the 21st-23rd to do some camping, wheeling, and wine sampling. Sedona is having their winefest again during that weekend so it will be great for most everyone involved (wives, girlfriends, and yourself). They usually have a cigar lounge too from what I've seen so that is where i like to hang out after getting a sample or two. I plan on hitting the standard trails while there; Broken Arrow, Soldiers Pass, and a few others. Looking at camping at the Cave Springs campsite north of Sedona, they do have a few sites you can reserve for larger parties but a single site is good for up to 8 people from what I've been told. If anyone is interested in tagging along or meeting up over the weekend let me know. Happy Trails!

I'm heading to Sedona on the 23rd. Didn't know about the winefest that weekend, otherwise I may have planned things differently! Anyway, if you're still around late Sunday afternoon or Monday we'd love to meet up. I am planning on running Broken Arrow, but don't know any others. What is the best resource for trails around Sedona?

Me and a few Jeeps from my Jeep club will be there the 20th thru the 23rd. We're camping at Cave Springs as well. There will probably be 5 or 6 Jeeps there. Come by and say hi. You can join us on a few runs if you like.

Sounds great, I'll look for you guys. Hopefully it won't be too crowded when I get there on Friday nad I can get a spot. Did you guys reserve a spot for your group or are you planning on getting a sight when yall get there?

We went ahead and reserved a few normal sites. Also I just realized we're in the Pine Flat campground...not Cave Springs! I would think that being this late in the year, you shouldn't have a problem finding a spot.

There's an AZ trails book by Charles Wells that is what I use. There is also a Recreational Map that is available in any bookstore, about the size of any atlas, but shows you all sorts of trails throughout the state, there are some for New Mexico, Utah, and California as well.

Had a great time up there in Sedona with some great people. Look forward to doing this again next year...for the record the Sedona Winefest weekend will probably be a staple trip for me so be on the lookout for future invites!
