Default 4-Corners Big Run

Heres a place to post all ideas about a big 4 state get together for the 4 corners area. The idea being a trip, hopefully multiple days, in a fairly neutral place for members of all 4 states.

Time to run your mouths off... where to people?

note: if you can please post the following: place, time, length, lil about the place, difficulty, and anything else you wanna add.

Anywhere but here! What type of area are we talking? Easy-difficult?Trails? I like the Canyon De Chelly idea that someone posted. I do have other Jeep friends here in flag that have done that with a guide and it is supposed to be an awesome trip.

I'd love to do Moab, but an 8 hour drive is a bit much for a weekend, even a long one and I can't do a longer trip, too many of those already planned this year. Canyon De Chelley is fairly central, but I'm sure there are other places out there as well.

If I were to plan it, I'd say go mid October (Columbus day Weekend?) to Canyon De Chelley. The weather will be really nice, low chance of rain and gives everyone a good amount of time to plan for it.

With in a few months I'll be living in either Durango or Moab, so pretty much anything will be good for me. I'll be coming from a central location, so I should be OK.
I'm with everyone else that is aiming for a date a little farther off. Much easier for me to get the time off that way. I do know that the one weekend I have plans already is over labor day. Going to do the Flint trail into the Maze District of Canyonlands with the the family. A good 3 day trip. Look forward to that one.

To do Canyon De Chelly you must pay an Indian guide to lead your group. The last time I was there it was about 15 dollars an hour. But well worth it.

That sounds about right. You only need one guide for the entire group, so the cost would not be too bad.

Canyon De Chelly would be great. For anyone who hasn't checked it out yet, here is a link to the National Park Service page for it.

Here is a link to the map of where it is.
