Arizona Jeepers ---> Alamo Lake????
A group of us are exploring areas of Arizona (the Free State of) next month. We're heading towards beautiful downtown Bouse, thence onto the Swansea Road trail. None of use are avid rock-crawlers. We mostly just want to go to areas less traveled. It appears we can continue East, then North to the Alamo Lake area, but what the maps don't tell me is:
Is there a way around Alamo Lake (to the North/East)? Or, another way?
We'd like to come to the Lake from the South, then drive around it and continue on our way to the North/West, towards the Arizona Proving Grounds Airport, next to I-40.
Please chime in with any information.
Thanks in advance.

I have only been to alamo lake once and it was 9 years ago. We came in on a dirt trail through parker az. But looking at the map it looks like alamo rd takes you almost straight north west toward the airport. I believe its also called county highway 167. Hope this helps...

Every little bit of information helps. I might give the Ranger's Station a call just for fun.
The road to the airport is what I'm trying to get to, from the South side of the Lake.
