I'm in AZ visting for the holidays. This thursday I need to travel from Buckeye, AZ to Prescott. So this would be the perfect opportunity to hit up Crown King.

I've never ran this trail and frankly don't want to head out there alone. So I'm hoping to get a few jeeps out there and have some fun.

When: Thursday Dec 31st. meet up 9am (Not sure yet where the best staging area is)

What: Backroad to Crown King with the possibility of heading over Senator Hwy into Prescott.

If I can get a kitchen pass I am up for it. A good meeting place is the Lake Pleasant turn off from carefree highway (74 I think). Its been too long since I have been on the trail to lead the run though.

Let me know how that goes. I live in PHX and I just got a new Jeep. I'm planning on taking mine up there ASAP. I'm out of town for the holidays right now but I'll be back on the 2th. Possibly that Sunday, Jan. 3rd, I may even head up there ... kind of going through Jeep withdrawal at the moment

 

Just ran backway to crown king 2 weeks ago, there are a couple rough areas but overall not bad. We had a yj on 30 inch tires and no lockers that made it by picking the right line. There are bypasses to some of the rougher areas as well. Have fun, we are going to be running terminator and raw deal so can't go along to help show the way.

 

I have to work on the 31st. If any of you are out on new years, I would love to go.

 

Update:
We will be at the corner of 74 and Castle Hotsprings Road at 7:30 AM, leaving early so that we can make sure we are back to any partys that night. My cell is 805-441-6791 if anyone wants to join.

 

Already talked to you but I will be there. I'm hoping its the Castle Hot Springs road closest to Lake Pleasant (its a loop from Morristown to Lake Pleasant)

 

You are correct, the intercetion closest to Lake Pleasant. See you there bright and early!
