This is why I've been to Moab twice so far this season. This spring melt may take a while.

Sounds like you're focusing on up north which is good. You'll want to stay away from Rampart Range area this Sunday as the RRMMC has their annual spring Poker Run. Hills down south will be full of motorcycles for the weekend. Just FYI.

Spring Creek is fun, but I'm looking for mud more than rocks on this one.

Slaughterhouse or Bill Moore Lake?

Slaughterhouse is open and fun, but usually busy.

Bill Moore Lake is very muddy, but fairly high altitude so snow may stop us at 10k+ ft.

Thoughts?

I ran Slaughterhouse today, not much (if any) mud to be found.

I know "the Gulches" is open and i think rampart is open but other than that i'm not too sure of where to find mud. Rampart will be pretty dry now too.

OKAY. I've given up on my mud fest and I think I'll take advantage of the heavy snowpack/slow melt-off to explore the easier trails with some of the cool mining camps and ghost towns.

Trails to be run: Moon & Gamble Gulches (Moderate) w/ Apex Road (Easy)

Meeting place: Rollinsville. Intersection of 119 & Rollins Pass Rd.

I-70 > 119 hwy North through Blackhawk. Rollinsville is about 15 miles north of Blackhawk on 119.

Meet Time: 8am, Sunday June 5th

This is a great combo for stock Jeeps and beginners if anyone wants to get their new toy out on the dirt. For the more seasoned guys....its better than sitting at home.
