Default Gear Question for CO JK'ers....

I've read a bazzillion threads on gears but wanted to ask my fellow CO JK'ers for their honest opinion. I live north of the Springs and currently have a 4DR Rubi with auto and 33"(285/70/17) KM2's. My wife even complains about the power so I'm looking at either 4.88s or 5.13s. When these tires wear out I will go with 35's but that will be a couple years off. I'm trying not to regear again later so I'm wondering if I can get away with the 5.13's here for now. I don't mind losing a couple mpg's.

Thanks,
Scott

Get 5.38 if you plan on upgrading to 35's

in the altitude and hills you won't regret 5.38's. I have 5.13's and often wish i would have gone 5.38's

Thanks. Any idea what my current 33's would be like with 5.13 or 5.38 gears? It will be a couple years before I can change tires.

I am not positive but I could go highway speed with the stock rubi tires until my 35's were put on a few days after my gears were in.

I'd say 5.38's! My 4.88's are way to high for 35's. I plan to try I-70 after temporarily swapping some 31" tires to see if 2 grand more in gears will be worth it.
