Default Liberty 5_2_09

Well, the day started cold and wet...as myself and one other buddy head down I25 towards the springs we hit some pretty good rain and we both started to worry that the days fun would be cut short or become very difficult on wet rocks...We are both on 35's and locked and boy did we need it on this day!

We got to the trail head, aired down, and hit the entrance to Liberty.

This was my first "difficult" trail and I must admit this trail was VERY exciting and fun. The drop into the trail was slightly damp and no problems. We began making our way down with many smaller rocks that like to move around and some more exciting obsticalls with winch ancor points built in (I thought this was rather cool).

Here is were James tried to two wheel it down a ledge leading into the intersection of Libery, Independence, and Patriot:

We also walked independence and Patriot....must say those are some pretty amazing trails that I won't be doing for some time LOL!!

You would have been more than welcome...didn't know if I should post up a TJ ride in a JK forum...

I was actually hestitant to post this trail report here as well, because its my TJ and not my JK...my JK is stock and would not have made this trail...at least not without some major damage to the underside and possibly body pannels....it needs to work to get to play

You can run the trail any way you like, although if you want to stay on Liberty you have to go in and then turn around and go back out. A lot of people will drop in Independence and then take Liberty out...although I will warn you that Independence is not for the weak of heart or those that like the way their jeep looks. You should expect body damage, very good chance of rolling, and likely you will break something on Patriot or independence...

We choose to stay on Liberty so it was a in and out on the same trail...I would say that you need 35's and lockers front and rear to do Liberty and you could probably make your way on Independence (if you don't care about body damage) but Patriot would be a very big challange as most buggies struggle on the exit of Patriot...

Don't let me scare you though, as it was an absoulte BLAST!!! I left wanting more, and it pushed my skill level further than I have ever pushed it before.

I also learned that my body mounts need to be cut off the frame and moved up on the frame rails as I beat the crap out of them on the rock ledges...My slider saved me from extensive body damage to the driver door twice...I was on my way to a flop and landed on the driver slider...it saved my bacon

Mad props to Gen-Right's awesome rock slider as it didn't even dent it and I slid it all the way down the rock cliff with the entire weight of the jeep on it!! I was impressed.

Loday, I just looked at your specs and you should do great on this trail...With the JK's HP axles and you on 37's you may not even hit the diff like I was on 35's and LP D44's
