mirrors in az
i have no idea... but I've had my doors off for over or about 2 weeks and driven by Johny law a lot and never had a problem as of yet
I'll be in sedona this weekend if anyone wants to hit up some trails.

I pretty certain that no doors or outside mirrors are just fine in AZ. I think you just need the inside mirror, but who knows, we have very few laws of that sort in AZ, they are all part of the wild west laws/non-laws.
Cone, I'm heading through Sedona tomorrow, probably in the morning, and planning to hit Broken Arrow. If I go in the morning, I hope to be there about 9-9:30. I'm leaving my house in the East Valley about 7. I'm heading up to Flagstaff, but don't need to be there until the afternoon.

Here's the definitive answer from the ADOT web site.
28-956. Mirrors
A motor vehicle that is constructed or loaded in a manner that obstructs the driver's view to the rear of the vehicle from the driver's position shall be equipped with a mirror located in a manner to reflect to the driver a view of the highway for a distance of at least two hundred feet to the rear of the vehicle.
I take that as you only need an outside mirror if your inside one is obstructed.

Whle I'm at it, here are some other interesting ones.
28-963. Television prohibition
A person shall not drive a motor vehicle equipped with a television viewer or screen or any other means of visually receiving a television broadcast that is either:
1. Located in the motor vehicle at any point forward of the back of the driver's seat.
2. Visible, directly or indirectly, to the driver while operating the motor vehicle.
I did not think AZ had this law.
28-938. Spot and auxiliary lamps
A motor vehicle may be equipped with any of the following:
1. Not more than one spot lamp that when lighted is aimed and used on approaching another vehicle only so that no part of the high intensity portion of the beam is directed to the left of the prolongation of the extreme left side of the vehicle nor more than one hundred feet ahead of the vehicle.
2. Not more than two fog lamps that are mounted on the front at a height of not less than twelve inches and not more than thirty inches above the level surface on which the vehicle stands and that are aimed so that when the vehicle is not loaded none of the high intensity portion of the light to the left of the center of the vehicle shall project, at a distance of twenty-five feet ahead, higher than a level of four inches below the level of the center of the lamp that is aimed.
3. Not more than two auxiliary passing lamps that are mounted on the front at a height of not less than twenty-four inches and not more than forty-two inches above the level surface on which the vehicle stands and that meet the requirements and limitations provided in sections 28-921 through 28-951.
4. Not more than two auxiliary driving lamps that are mounted on the front at a height of not less than sixteen inches nor more than forty-two inches above the level surface on which the vehicle stands and that meet the requirements and limitations provided in sections 28-921 through 28-951.
#2 is the one i find interesting. Lift you jeep with the bumper mounted fog lamps and you may get above 30"
28-957.01. Windshields required
A. The following vehicles shall be equipped with an adequate windshield:
1. A passenger vehicle, except a motorcycle, an all-terrain vehicle and a golf cart manufactured or modified before June 17, 1998.
2. A motor truck or truck tractor, except fire trucks, fire engines or other fire apparatus, whether publicly or privately owned.
B. This section does not apply to an implement of husbandry or to an antique, classic or horseless carriage automobile if it was not originally equipped with a windshield.
Well. forget about driving around town with you windshield down, not that you'd want to though.
That's about all I saw that really could impact us. As you can see there is not much in the way of restrictions for us in AZ, makes me feel sorry for those in some other states that have all sorts of restrictions.

one more quick question: how do you all store your doors. I live in a dorm room at the moment but have a 5x5' storage unit. anyway to protect them? Personally im afraid of breaking the mirrors...

I personally hang mine on a wall, but fo you, just put a towel or blanket on the ground to protect the bottom edges. Lean the first door with the inside to the wall, the offset the next door a little, and lean it against the other door (inside to ouside). Not sure if any of that makes sense, but it did in my mind.
Anyone from Colorado want to compare, I saved you the trouble of looking:

One thing I didn't realize is:

device, while driving with an instruction permit, unless
it is because of an emergency, or you are contacting the
police or fire department, or you have parked your car.
