Ngineer....
Surely your relatives want to go shopping in Sedona while you are out playing!!! All those boutique shops? Not to mention the Outlet Stores in Oak Creek?
Jeees, women can be amused for days with all the shops there. You can just drop off the women, and take that brother - in - law you can't stand up to the cliffs and put the fear of God in him....
Oh, and dont forget to sneak your wife's AMEX out of her purse for 'gas' and forget to give it back to her until we get off the mountain.
Perfect day !! Your brother in law now respects you, your wife & friends are tuckered out, you had fun, and everyone goes home singing kumbaya.

I have been 4 wheeling since 1968. I was 9 years old plunking around in an old International Scout. But we have alot of new guys.
So I was thinking about going to talk to these guys, seeing if I can get a group rate for newbies that want to learn how to SAFELY go 4 wheeling. What do you guys think?
Sedona Jeep School

w w w . sedonajeepschool . com
4-wheel drive basics and advanced intensive training. 2 ½ hour and 5 hour instruction “on the rocks” with your own private instructor. You can use your own four-wheel drive vehicle or rent a Jeep through Farabee’s Jeep Rental to accomplish your goals. As Jeep guide manager for Pink Jeep Tours , I trained over one hundred professional guides in the skills and etiquette of 4-wheel driving and can say with conviction that there are a lot of 4-wheelers out there on trails and roads doing damage to the land, to the image of 4-wheel drivers, and to their own vehicle. I’ve even seen some get hurt or hurt other trail users. If you are serious enough to own an off-highway vehicle you should seek training. Jeep clubs train their members, tour companies train their guides, and this school offers qualified training, too. Their instructors, like my friend Nina who received her initial skills at Red Rock Jeep Tours, could turn out to be your next best friend.

With the combined experience of us all we should not have a problem helping others who may not have experience. The class might hold some of us up that want to get as many trails in as possible.
Thanks for the Redrock Pass info I have decided to try and get mine before Saturday just to make things go a little smoother.
So Tucson Crew.... are any of you going or have all of you decided to bail out. It would be nice if there was some communication between us so we can work out issues if there are any. We need to revise lists and know how many are showing so that are going are not waiting on individuals the day of.
I am still wanting to caravan if you plan on leaving Friday.Call me 955.2810 James.
PHX. how many of you are meeting us up there?? Lets here from you Guys.
Ngineer are do definitely not going??

i can fix this!!!
Ok so Sedona is a beautifull place right? Its fall lots of trees in the fall, its a canyon, plus your off roading through the canyon to places most people dont see.
So what you do is you butter it up like crazy and tell them about it. get them to come (helps pay for gas and lodging) and then you no longer have any worries.
done deal

Rumor has it that the VirtualJeep club is going the same weekend. I told them we are meeting at Red Planet, so we may have 3 or 4 from Phx from a neighboring club...
I'm going over to the Forest Service today and buy a Red Rick Pass. I think I get a discount. Will let y'all know tonight what the process is.
btw: Coconino Forest has the same plan under advisement for next year. I wish I could buy a pass for the whole state, rather than keep collecting a pass for each area.
will advise tonight. - Dave

Sweet... I look foreward to meeting new people. Hope that the other peeps get on board, they will be missing out if they don't.

I know what you mean with the passes alot of them do not cover other areas.. what a waste of money. Around Tucson to visit certain areas there is an additional fee on top of the pass.
That pisses me off!
Again thanks for all the info it is helping alot!
I'm contemplating the trip... How many spouses or going? I want to bring along a GF if there are other going. She likes jeeping in new aeras. My other problem is I travel with dog. Not a problem at a lot of hotels, but I need to start looking. Wheres everyone staying?
Seems the hotel issue bounces all over the place.....
Jsted looked in the Sedona area. Very pricey and there a few with roooms that take pets..
So need to know where everyone is thinking of staying.

"Tell ya what: How about we all find a place to stay. There are lots of little hotels that will have rooms. Some people may want to stay in Cottonwood or Camp Verde. Probably cheaper. There is a real decent hotel on the SE corner of Hwy 260 and I-17 thats 50 minutes away from this breakfast place...
Comfort Inn, 340 North Goswick Way, Camp Verde, AZ - (928) 567-9000
THEN We can all meet for breakfast Saturday October 4th at 8:30 am at "
Try the smaller hotels.. Give them a call and see what you find out. It would be nice if you could make it.
