How many going?

It's good to keep it minimal since the trail does cross private land.

It pays off to call ahead too, I have a rancher's name and number. When we called him last year he was very happy that we did call him and he did see us on the trail that day. We stopped to talk to him and he said there are some times when people come blasting through and get off the trail and don't close gates behind themselves.

My wife and I would love to join and two or three other Jeeps from Albuquerque that I know of.

I think so far about 5 of us. I have been there a few times and never contacted anyone before going, we were always careful about not littering and closing the gates as we passed thru....out of courtesy of the private property. But if you suggest its better to call then just PM the name and number of the rancher please. Look forward to meeting you all!

If you guys are going to Monticello, leave an extra day open for some trails in Blanding too. Hotel Rock and Arch Canyon are well worth it!

We have a Montecello here in New Mexico too. Just a bit different.

Hotel Rock and Arch Canyon are in South East Utah...

In december I did the Cabaillo trail...
It starts at the South endd on the mountain that is just East of Cabaillo Lake. It's 23 miles and took about 7 hours to run with a lunch stop. Very fun trail.

As you see in the pictures the YJ and my JK are stock. Well, the YJ has a 3" shackle lift... No lockers on the YJ so there is the picture on my pulling him over some of the rough stuff... My Rubicon JK is stock but lockers, discos and no fear go a long way. The trail is supposed to be 2 rated, but we decided after the run that there were about 4 spots that were a valid 3 rated.

If you are going to do that trail just make sure to plan well. It would not be a good place to tow a rig out of.

We discussed the description after the run:
It is stock doeable, but not stock friendly. If it is a stock Rubicon, you will be okay.

Very fun trail though. It will always be one of my favorite runs.
