IS NM FOR ME? A little help...
I am contemplating a move to Sante Fe, NM in April. I work in the restaurant business (I'm a general manager and a certified Sommelier) and the lady that I'd be moving with is certified as a teacher in two different forms of yoga and shiatsu massage. as well. I have already gleaned some wonderful information from a member on this forum already (thanks Sam!) but I thought I would reach out to the masses for some additional help. If you haven't fallen asleep yet I have a few questions:
How is the job market in respect for the hospitality industry?
How is the job market for health and wellness?
Are the winter days terribly cold? (nights are understandable)
Also, I enjoy hiking, mountain biking, rock-climbing, astronomy, off-roading and getting lost in nature, none of which I can do here in South Florida...is NM for me?
Any first hand advice from any fellow "Jeeper" would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
P.S. Your sticker rocks!!!

i have lived in albuquerque my whole life. love it. only 50 miles south of santa fe. albuquerque is a larger city than santa fe, but SF is kinda cool. lots of everything you listed to do. ecxelent off roading. farmington, is GREAT also. good luck.
I don't live there, but based on your interests and you significant other, I'd say you guys would fit right in. Santa Fe is a bit "New Age", so fine food, shiatsu, yoga and just about anything outdoors is welcome there. Another option might be the Sedona, AZ area. The two cities are alike, Sedona is just smaller and more expensive.
You still thinking about moving?
The hiking & wheel'n are killer here. SF is centrally located. You can rock crawl in ABQ (Rio Puerco) or take an infinate # of mountain forrest roads which are easier but can be challenging due to erosion. You're only an hour and a half from Taos, which has world class skiing/snowboarding.
edit: Reread your post. Not sure about the job oppertunities, but as a previous member stated it sound right up your alley. I'm originally from STL, MO. The proximity of qualty outdoor activities is second to none. Everyone should live in/near the mountains at some point in their life.
