Why are you taking it out? I keep hearing on these forums that they don't work well.

I went ahead and replaced the headunit, amp and all speakers (added a JL 10"). It sounds a lot better, but it was a hefty expense. Some people just add an amp, some replace just the speakers etc. I went with a Pioneer AVIC which has two camera inputs, bigger screen and better UI than stock. There is an excellent write up one of these forums saying that they have been able to alter their stock systems and achieved great results, with minimal cost, so who knows. The main problem I have encountered with adding a bass box is that it now it dances around as I am out wheeling. I will probably get the JL stealth box that is permanently fixed on the passenger side. Just need a blank panel to finish out the clean look.

I did a similar upgrade to mine recently, I was told by many people as well as my local car audio that the stock enclosure doesn't work... I've build tons of Bass Cabs over the years and the trick is not so much the size of the enclosure but getting it tuned to the correct sub driver. I went with a Pioneer TS series 8" shallow mount Sub in the stock enclosure but tuned it by adding a port... I'm driving the sub with a 500watt Class D mono black amp with a Kenwood DNN770DN head unit.. It hits extremely hard... I was going to offer you the specs if you wanted to try, but I think you have already moved past it.

Yes, beyond that point now.
