Rough Jeepin Stories.
When i was i college and broke, i was in a jeep club. We "planned" a trip to Gilmer for a weekend. I had a large tj back then. We drove 8 vehicle down there. It cost alot more to get in than we were told. So by the beginning we were all already out of money. we survived off a 3 pound roll of hamburger meat cooked on a skid plate over the camp fire. in the end we were winched out of trails we had no business being on, by people who were just mad we were all stuck and in their way. haha. I will never forget one older man in a yj told me after he winched me off the top corner of wicked trail "its not the size of the tire son that gets you up the hill, its the lockers". I didnt even know what a locker was. In the end only 2 vehicles drove home by their own power. My future father in law drove 2.5 hours to load me up on a trailer and drive me home. The jeep was my only vehicle and was 4 days old to me with paper tags still on it.
He found me starving, dehydrated, sunburned and covered in red dirt, with broken brake lines (who knew when you lifted a jeep 6 inches you might have to extend the brake lines). Then it was a nightmare, now i think it is funny. He still brings it up today to make fun of me.
Lets hear the rough jeep stories of your past.
