Default SHTF Gear

So I was watching Doomsday Preppers and a couple other survial shows on TV and realized I'm not really prepared for any of the stuff they were talking about haha. Well I do have some firearms and am surrounded by people in the medical profession, not one of us has any real outdoor or survial skills. Now I'm not crazy like those people on the TV are, but I'd like to learn some essentials. Now I know you guys have thought about this stuff too and maybe even started some preparation yourself.

So what's a good book or survial guide to pick up? What some good SHTF (S!it hits the fan) gear you guys would recommend? In general, how do you guys prep yourselves?

My wife and I aren't crazy either but we do have food, water, guns, and ammo. Even if you don't believe in doomsday, its always good to be prepared.

If i give away my survival tips to everyone it will only make my resupply runs more difficult if SHTF.

I live in southern CA so the chances of a catastrophic event happening are pretty good. Earthquakes, wild fires, floods, smog, etc. We got it all, every year it seems like. LOL

Where there is no doctor is a fantastic book to have for medical emergencies and honestly YouTube has a lot of good stuff. I recommend analytical survival.

Today a "prepper" is considered a paranoid nut, when the SHTF scenario arrives....

he is a deemed an instant genius.

Therefore I prep.....
