Default Dog is my copilot

Ours ride in the back of my 07 2dr. We have cargo netting and a cargo net pet barrier (although the back seat (when left in) is effective). Our dogs LOVE the cargo netting!!

If you are going to strap your pet(s) in, I would advocate for a harness of some type (they make auto-specific harnesses based on weight/build of dog). Or you cold use a walking harness and secure your buddy that way too.

Personally, we use harnesses for walking too - SO much more control and no strain on their necks when on lead (if yours pull, then you know what I'm talking about). They have more freedom, it seems more comfortable, and we have better control over our dogs (on lead). When/if we tie them off in the Jeep (top off, cargo netting) there's no chance of them getting hung up and/or choking themselves out on a traditional neck/collar/lead combo.

Well, I eventually opted for a seat barrier above the back seat, one with elements that can be reduced in length, our Seypah loves to lean above the seat and grab a breath of fresh air... But we've also been able to remove the leash, now that she's safely contained in the trunk of the JKU.

And once our second German Shep joins the Team, they won't tangle their leashes... Which always ends up as a major problem when it happens and you're on a speedway........

Mine rides on this simple platform I made. He is tethered to the headrest using his harness not collar. He can see out the window when he wants.

Ah - exactly what I had when we were using a different car brand... We moved to Jeep and the JKU for that very purpose: ROOM !

And I totally agree with the harness usage, instead of a collar. For comfort, of course, but safety as well. Seen too many a dog get out of a collar in a delicate moment...

This is awesome. Where did you get it? Manufacturer?
