I went 650t with RAM arm and rugged ridge dash bar. Seemed to be a clean way to get topo and some solid portability. I looked very heavily at the 5m, the support doesn't seem to be there anymore and I was worried about future updates. Another option would be to get a RAM arm for an iPad and use the Garmin GLONASS external antenna.

Had the 650st and was going to go the 5m decided not too....unless your in Baja constantly the Garmin is more than capable and easy to use. The lowrance has no turn by turn or city nav the 650 is drop proof waterproof (3' 30 minutes) and a damn good unit....if I was racing trucks again I'd go lowrance for designated runs but not worth the limitations if you use it a lot....

Montana 650 all the way.....

I am using a Montana 650t for caching and trail riding, and like it very much. I've had other Garmin GPSs and they seem to be well built.
