Default Calling All Chicago area JKers

I live in lombard il and am considering getting the smitty bilt XRC armor front and rear.... Can anyone tell me if I will have issues with the cops about tire coverage? I saw a black JK unlimited in my neighborhood running them and unfortunately have the ability to stop the driver and ask him. Any and all help on this subject would be greatly appreciated.....

I think you will run into problems because I heard that the fender has to cover the tire. I could be wrong though. Go to the Lombard police station and ask, doesn't cost anything.

I'd suggest checking the IL vehicle code for yourself. Don't rely on what you've heard regardless of whether or not they're a LEO. It's damn near impossible for a LEO to know every bit of Illinois's vehicle codes.

Just recently a cop gave a buddy of mine trouble for not having mirrors when he was doorless. IL requires only one rear facing mirror....

Just some food for thought
