I just found about about this event so I thought I'd share with everyone.

GC1MBJH - So You Thought You Were Geocacher Enough?

I can tell you it will be near Houghton Lake, MI and there will be rustic camping.

4/9/2009 - "Houghton Lake Area Geocacher Found Dead"

We received a call today from the Houghton Lake State Police that a body had been found at one of our geocaches in the South Houghton Lake area. Our contact info was on the cache so they got a hold of us to try and help them identify the body and question us. Turns out it was a local Geocacher! The police informed us that the cacher had not been killed at this location, but was dumped here. After talking with the department some, they’ve decided they want the geocaching community’s help in solving this crime. As more information becomes available, we’ll update everyone.

Yes.

I won't be camping out because it's not that far to my brothere's place in Cadillac.

To those that wonder just what the heck is going on....it's sort of a crime solving game. I'm guessing there will be "clues" at serveral geocache locations which when deciphered will probably give a location for a final cache like the CSI series (GC12Y1B).

This is my kind of fun. Forest roads with a cool contest using a GPSr.

 

It looks like we are going to have a great turn out. Over 55 teams have said they will attend. If you are into geocaching you won't want to miss this event.
