Default Help With Gear Install

In the few coming months left of winter I will be saving up to get a new rubicon 44 front. I have the 5:13 gears ready to install and was wondering if anyone here from the indiana region had someone they trusted with gears and shims....

Im kinda looking for a good deal seeing that 4wheelparts wants to charge me a grand just for labor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have heard that $300 per axle is the going rate. If someone is charging half, I'd be cautious. If something is too good to be true, it probably is. If it is not done right you will end up spending much more.

Just to clarify...the guys that charged the $300 were Dana employees that put axles together on the assembly line. They know them inside and out. This is what I was told. I haven't gotten them done myself, but wdw did.

Are they charging you $500 per axle including the gearing or just for labor. If it includes the gears, it is right in line.

YUP. That is what they did. This is extra spending money for them. They both have full time Jobs.

Thay have done ALL the jeeps in the local group. (we are not a club. just a group that meet every night.)

They also set up gears for Rock Crawlers.
