I have both tops...I think the hard top is a little warmer in the winter. If you get a hoist for the garage then you can store it for the summer.

Someone in Henderson, NV asking about snow? Won't they just shut down the town and it will melt by 10am anyways??

Sorry man, I had to.. But I sure do love Las Vegas !

Haha no doubt about that. It snowed here once and about 2" stuck. Schools were shut down. It was funny! No I'm moving to the Chicago area in about august for navy basic training and I'll be there until about feb of 2012. That's why I was askin'

Just my 2 cents, but drove an '05 TJ Rubicon previous to the JK, and found that large amounts of snow on the soft top caused it to stretch a little. After a few years, that slight stretching made it flap like a tent in the wind at highway speeds.

This is a different top, obviously, than the TJ's, but did notice that it loosened up having snow weighing it down. I keep the hard top on all winter and swap out for the soft top in the spring, so I cannot speak to the strength of the JK soft top under load in the snow.

My guess would be that it wouldn't be damage, but there would be the potential of it getting a little stretched/loose and start flapping in the wind...
