Here's some articles on recovery equipment, execution, and some general information on driving and spotting techniques to help everyone understand safety of passengers in the vehicles should be foremost during any off-road activity, vehicle integrity (and I include everything from axles to paint in that category) runs a very close second.

And if you're going to be using a winch to recover others or getting support for your own recovery you should probably familiarize yourself with the basic guidelines for winching as published by Warn
ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS tie everything down. You'll be amazed to see how quickly the most innocuous of articles will reach terminal velocity when you turn these toys greasy side up. Anything heavier than a cell phone needs to be secured inside.

phillips and flat head screwdrivers
torx screwdrivers or T-handles
air pressure guage
bottle jack
ratchet strap(s)
flashlight/lantern
tow strap
Supplies:
Work Gloves
Latex Gloves
JB Weld
RTV Sealant
Lock-Tite
Silicone (Tube, not spray)
Zip Ties
electrical butt connectors
Duct Tape
Electrical Tape
Quart of Oil
Plastic Garbage Bag
Oil Dry/Kitty Litter
Block of Wood (a 1ft length of 2x4 is ideal)
