Default ORV Trails in Michigan

So I finally got my ORV sticker...what are good trails to do? I am currently in Southeast Michigan, and looking on the DNR site, most places are in the northern lower peninsula and the U.P. I am just looking for a little input on trails to hit up around the state. The DNR maps are way too confusing for me.

On another note, if someone is organizing a trail ride towards the end of november, maybe the weekends of the 21st and/or 28th, that would be awesome if you could accommodate a silver JK that likes to do trails.

Thanks for the guidance and I look forward to maybe hitting up some trails in the future.

Go to http://www.vvmapping.com/trails/trailInfoMI.html they have pdf files of the ORV trails in Michigan. If you click the link to the "Overview Map" you can see were they are located.

I too have noticed there aren't a lot of trails on the southern half on the state.
Most of the DNR trails are level and don't produce a lot of challenge at all, thats
what sucks about them. A few of us are going to Rocks and Valleys ORP
11/7, if you can make it, let me know. Anyone is welcome!

having wheeled with Sdault a couple times now in the Manistee Nat. Forest, just North of Muskegon, I can tell you that the trails, while at times are somewhat tame, can present some pretty cool challenges, and provide some of the most beautiful scenery known to man.-contact Sdault for additional details. He is the man with a plan. He has TONS OF trail maps that he has personally run and compiled into his GPS. give the Huron/Manistee Nat. Forest a try. It wont disappoint.

Damn...11/7 is no good for me...

11/14 I'm heading to the new place in Jerome.

Anyone want to trail ride or possibly hit up the mounds on 11/20, 11/21, 11/27 or 11/28???

Never been to the Mounds but I know its pretty popular with some guys in my area. Added bonus, they just added a rock crawling course for this year. I don't think it's anything ridiculous, but could be fun.
Just looking for an opportunity to get out and wheel my Jeep before I head back to the trails in PA for the winter...

I will even add a poll as to what day people might be wanting to go and do some wheeling.

Just a heads up on orv trails in Michigan. Hunting season with a firearm runs from November 15 thru November 30. There are certain hours it is illegal to be on orv trails. Linky.....http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,1607,7...1401--,00.html

Does this include Forest roads or just marked ORV trails?
