Im no lawyer or DNR officer but reading the link there, it looks like a licensed Michigan vehicle is ok on forest trails. Just watch out for the Hunters in the woods, and stray bullets.

Here's another tip. Your ORV sticker is pretty much useless. On any forest road or marked ORV trail for full sized vehicles all that is required is to be licenced for the road. It is required for STATE OWNED off road parks like the Mounds or Silver Lake Dunes.

Just to chime in on the hunting situation up in Michigan,,, once you get up past Kalamazoo, they are allowed to use high powered rifles!! and most of those guys do!!!!!
I'm not saying that Michigan hunters are a danger or dangerous hunters, just that a bullet from a 270 or 300 mag can travel quite a ways and unless stopped by something,( a tree or deer or something), could pose a very dangerous situation to folks out on the trails....and most of the trails I've been down, drive past allot of hunting areas...
Plus, I don't want to get into an argument with any hunters that go into a rant that I'm trespassing or ruining their hunt because I'm out on the trails!!!
I for one don't want to be anywhere near the trails up in Michigan during their gun season.... that's just me though.....

11/14 I'm heading to the new place in Jerome.

Anyone want to trail ride or possibly hit up the mounds on 11/20, 11/21, 11/27 or 11/28???

Never been to the Mounds but I know its pretty popular with some guys in my area. Added bonus, they just added a rock crawling course for this year. I don't think it's anything ridiculous, but could be fun.
Just looking for an opportunity to get out and wheel my Jeep before I head back to the trails in PA for the winter...

I will even add a poll as to what day people might be wanting to go and do some wheeling.

If you make the 28th, you can count us in. It's Thanksgiving weekend and it'll be slow around my house so we'll be looking for something to do.

Following this thread closer, it's illegal to be on DNR marked public trails between 7-11am and 2-5pm between November 15-30th. FYI. And I can tell you, being from the sticks north of Grand Rapids, MI, that the hunters take their hunting very seriously. Out of respect for them and their efforts, I usually don't even ride DNR trails from 10/15 to 12/1. Just my opinions. . . .

OK, so public trails are out...

I'm saying we all head to the Mounds on the 21st. Pretty sure I am going to be heading there that weekend as the next weekend I will be heading back to Pennsylvania.

So, hope to see some of you guys there.

Mounds on 11/21!!!
