The Lady and I are going to finally head to Silver Lake the weekend of 9/14. I am looking for recommendations on a hotel and a few good places to grab some food (not fast food). A friend of ours was telling us they head over to luddington for the evening. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

 

There are quite a few"mom and pop" places to eat around the dune area, all are pretty good. As for a hotel, I would call around Silver lake area. don't go expecting to find a room on the fly, they ate normally full.
As for ludington, not a whole lot going on there, I would stay around Silver lake.

 

Hart Pizza in downtown Hart is a NICE sit-down place or the Brown Bear in Shelby is good too. Good burgers!

HOTELS: The Dunes Waterfront Inn right in Mears is good. Also the Comfort Inn in Hart (off 31) is nice too.

I hope to be on the dunes on Saturday too! It's going to be chilly!
