Welding Shops
I guess I lucked out in that department. After the last outing when my Jeep was up on blocks, I told my wife that I need new tires. She said fine. I said ,"Well if I'm gonna spend the money, I should just get the bigger ones now." She says ,"Whatever you need to do."
"Well I'm kind of in a pickle. 35's in a 17 are expensive. I'll save money if i buy new wheels too.
"Fine"
"Well If i get bigger tires, I'm probably gonna have to regear."
"how much is a gear"
"Probably another grand"
"Well if you need it, you need it."
I've found it's in how I word it. If I "need" it, it's approved. If I "want" it, suck it up. I need a snorkel.

.
that woud help out and don't forget a can of rustolem or such to paint it after it cools. a bucket of water and rags will keep them plenty cool. i was worried with mine but no issues with my ball joints as of yet. i welded mine on in jan so it should have shown by now if it was going to.
if you want to come down john you would be more than welcome. i have a mig and stick welder both. i preffer the mig for that application however i had to use the stick when i did mine due to no wire for the mig. i have plent of both now.
i will be getting busy soon and my last weekend will most likely be labor day weekend till thanksgiving. i am going to camp and wheel this weekend at either the badlands or interlake down by evansville in. i can bring up the welder to the camp grounds and weld them on in the evening if you like. my 110 mig will be fine for the job. let me know, i will start a post on wheeling this weekend soon.

with the job he did. He used a MIG, and my job was to keep the wet towels coming. He was very careful to not heat up the ball joints too much. Got home and 1/2 rattle can gloss black later - all done!!!I also got my plastic rivets in the mail yesterday, so my right rear fender is not floppy anymore.
THANK YOU CODY for offering to help out with the welding, I really appreciate it. Hope to see you again soon
