Default Who's in and where to meet and what time

Dear All

We need a who's in, where to meet and what time.

I would like to ask ItsARubiconDay to edit the first post to give a meeting location with a time and also update the post to say who is in or not.

Right now I am in, but I don't want to drive 160 miles to have it turn out to be one man or two man show.

Thx

I am in, but I have only run that area once; and that was a follow the leader run at best... But half the fun of running new trails is the discovery of them. It looks like we will have a few winches, straps, gps, and cells in the mix... All should be good; now we just need the OP to chime back in on a meeting spot/time. TekWarren is from that neck of the woods, he knows of a good meeting area...

Just a note on ORV stickers. Unless you are going to an ORV park like The MOunds or Silver Lake you won't need one. "ORV routes" only require that your Jeep be Licensed by the State. We all have license plates.
One reason I'm not going is that while looking at the maps provided on the DNR site for that area there is no "ORV Route". There is an "ORV TRail" but that is for vehicles less than 54" wide. Tin Cup Spring on the other hand has a good ORV Route where Jeeps are legal with just a license plate.

I am in of course... Suggesting again that starting point be Charlie's Pub. Its right near the center of WC visible in any direction from the main stop light and has decent area for parking. Also my friend's family owns a bakery across the street Another option may be airport parking lot just a little bit north (up the hill) from this location. Time for me is no biggy...mid morning...noonish...whatever. I'm sure some of you would be more happy to have the meeting time a little later if your coming from a distance.

SaginawMike: I really wouldn't be to worried about the trails. There ARE plenty of trails that are legal to be on with our Jeeps. Logging roads etc. I am sure we will be respectful enough to stick to those trails. The run that SteelMastif and I did last year in this area was pretty widely advertised and was an organized charity run...we had no issues at all.

I'll have to monkey with my CB...maybe buy a new one as I'm not sure mine is transmitting LOL and I hope to have something in place to record our trail for future reference.

These are the trail maps for the area, I am sure most of these trails are really laid back, but with the recent and future weather, who knows what the trail conditions might be...

Tin Cup Spring

Little O

There are a couple of new ORV parks (Twisted Trails, and Rocks and Valleys) that we will have to hit up this spring/summer that will provide a lot more in the way of challenges; I have been keeping an eye on there progress, and they are adding new obstacals as they grow, it looks like they will provide a good place to test our rigs and driving skill...

I think I can make this trip also. Just let me know a time and place to meet. I have met some of you before at silver lake. I also have maps of some of those places. Tin cup requires an ORV sticker I believe. Pretty sure my wife and I can make it.....definently gonna bring waders with all this rain and snowmelt we have had. Post or PM me the details

I might be able to come if I can get my lift installed and complete this weekend without any problems. Still waiting on wheels, but can still use the stock ones to roll on till they get delivered. I can let you know the end of this week if I am comming.

Thumbs up Checking In

Hi Guys,

Sorry it's been awhile. I just became a statistic of the economy and have been busy looking to reverse that. It's looking like we've picked up a few more rigs to go, that's sweet. I was worried this was going to be a two rig ride. The more rigs, the more fun. Unless anyone has a complaint with the following, I'll just leave our trip details below. If you would like, PM me with questions or concerns, or your phone number and I will call you if there are any trip changing details at the last minute. I will also send you mine. It should be a blast! Hopefully the weather isn't too bad. I don't mind the snow, it's the bitter cold and high winds that get to me. Be sure to bring recovery equipment if you have it. A couple pics I've seen show some water holes. They weren't too deep, but with this rain and higher temps.(?) And I don't think we'll have any legal issues for those concerned. The tracks I've seen, the history I've read, the time of the year, and the few blogs that talk about it, I'd be willing to bet we'll be fine. It would be nice if I could get an RSVP from those who know they're coming. That way I can keep the fence sitters UTD. If there is anything else, PM me, I promise to check-in more often. Thanks everybody, and I'll see you in 10 days!
