Gentlemen
Here is the drill that someone asked for the other day. I named it the Tuffy drill.
It is a drill to simulate if you were about to get into your car and suddenly you had to engage on threats and try to neutralize them. You start off with keys in hand and you have to unlock Tuffy security drawer and open it and remove loaded firearm.
This is to show how long it really takes to get your firearm out and engage. What I like to show in these drills is the reality of an actual situation and to see what your weaknesses are and how to improve them.
Never doing this before, it took all students and me an average of around 6 1/2 seconds to unlock drawer, open it and pull out firearm and shoot first round. the drill required 2 accurately placed shots on each target. Shooting at targets is the easy part. it only took about 1 1/2 seconds to neutralize targets with 2 combat effective shots center mass. It was the 6ish seconds that it took to open the drawer that needs practice to be effective.
These were my times:
total time to neutralize 2 threats with 2 shots each= 8.1 seconds
time to first shot = 6.8 seconds
time it took to fire 4 shots on 2 threats = 1.3 seconds
If you do carry a firearm in your drawer, my suggestion is to practice the drill with an unloaded pistol in there and run the drill from having the key in hand and opening drawer and pulling the trigger.
The trick is to index the drawer key with your finger and be able to find the keyhole right away.
with practice you should be able to get that firearm out in less than 4 to 5 seconds.
Realistic training = Realistic expectations

First thing I do when I get in my Jeep is unlock the drawer. I have a Velcro strap to keep it from swinging open in heavy driving. When I leave I lock it again. It is a good idea to practice getting to your Jeep and unlocking like you mentioned. I also have a MOLLE holster between seat and hand brake. It's installed on the GEAR seat covers. If I drive into a "bad" area, I move my Glock there to have it more accessible. On the left side of the seat I have two mag pouches.

Currently I do them at a private range in the southwest suburbs Frankfort, IL.
In illinois, we are limited in areas but I manage.
I am trying to setup an advanced skill drill 1 day training to run just unique training scenarios.
I like to keep it real. LOL
