Default Saiga 12

Any body out there have a SAIGA 12? If so post up some pics especially if it's been converted. I've been thinking about getting one!

A friend of mine had one and he loved it. Wish I had pics of it. It was a hoot to shoot.

I have one and love it, bought to take with me to the three gun matches i do. Lets put it this way, after one match with my Saiga the group band them. I love taking it to the range and freaking out the people next to me, there is something about going through 12 rounds in less than 4 sec that makes people stare

here is mine with the 12rd mag in it. I converted it myself. I also opened up the gas ports a bit and replaced one of the recoil springs with a lighter one so that I can run low brass in it all day. Took me a while to tune it just right, but it is now where it will not cycle all the way on low brass if gas setting is on 1 but runs perfect on setting 2. High brass and buckshot run perfect on 1 without slamming into the receiver. If you buy one I would suggest either having a gunsmith tune the operating system for you or tuning it yourself if you are capable. The russians were afraid we would destroy the guns by running buckshot and slugs in them so they made the gas system too weak. I would also add a buffer in the rear in case you open too much or run too hot of ammo. When I first got mine it wouldn't run on anything but super hot high brass loads, now it will eat everything.

If you are getting one or have one and are considering having it converted don't do it. The price it cost's to convert one is way out there compared to what it cost's to buy the tools and do your own. It's actually a pretty simple process as well. If you are wanting to have one converted and you live near Houston then I will let you know once I have shop up and running again, and we will happily do it for you. I don't have my 12 anymore, but here is a picture of a 20.

Nope, has not been converted. Sorry, didn't mean to make it sound as if it had. This gun is far back on my to do list. unfortunately my own gun's get put on the back burner and often suffer because of it. Then again, of my own guns this one is about #28 on the build list. Just finished up my newest CZ rifle by safely dropping the trigger to about 8 oz.

Edit: Oh and thanks, nothing like having 23 rounds of 20ga goodness hanging off your gun. Although it is really hard to shoot clays with it loaded up lol

Those drums are made so nice, but the price is insane!!! I will get one maybe one day, but lately I been building HK stuff and the AK stuff has fallen to the side. Isn't that drum like $400 retail?!?! 23rds of 20 guage buckshot would be awesome home defense. lol. Low recoil and insane capacity.

They are pretty expensive but that is one of the nice things about having an FFL is that you get to buy at wholesale. Plus, if we were worried about blowing through all of our expendable income then we sure as heck wouldn't have a Jeep and Gun addiction lol

I have one that's converted. I'll have to post up pictures when I get home. It is by far my favorite shotgun I own, and I have a few that are a lot nicer.
